The Moment

Being content with who you are changes everything

Hi Reader,

There’s a term in marketing called the ‘know, like, trust’ factor.

When a brand is trying to get someone to go from a casual onlooker to a dedicated customer, they want them to 1) know the brand exists, 2) like the brand enough to try something, and 3) trust the brand enough to keep repurchasing.

Now I’m not here to give you a marketing lesson, but I noticed an interesting parallel between this concept and the road to self-acceptance.

Self-acceptance means seeing yourself as you are in the moment and choosing to be okay with what you find.

We all want to be comfortable with who we are, and we all wish we could like what we see when we look in the mirror.

But it’s so hard to truly accept who you are.

Often people say you need to learn to ‘love’ yourself, but if you don’t even LIKE yourself, how can you love yourself?

That’s why I think the know, like, trust factor is the perfect framework for rebuilding the relationship with yourself.

Want to know what I mean?

In this week's blog post, I discuss how you can become more content with who you are by knowing, liking, and trusting yourself.

at the moment.

💭 An interesting thought: “If you are continually judging and criticizing yourself while trying to be kind to others, you are drawing artificial boundaries and distinctions that only lead to feelings of separation and isolation.”―Kristin Neff

🧘‍♀️ A worthwhile practice: I’ve struggled with back pain for a few years now (still trying to figure out what it is), but I really enjoyed this yoga practice for spinal health. With all of the sitting we do these days, taking care of your back and spine is so important.

a moment of bliss.

A moment of bliss is something in your day that you’re savoring or grateful for, no matter how small it might seem.

My daily moment of bliss unfolds almost every day. When I go out, for a peaceful walk with Alfie, my loyal dog companion. It's in those serene moments just before the world awakes that I find tranquility. There are no disruptive sounds, no cars rushing by – only the morning fog lending a refreshing clarity to my mind and thoughts."
