The Moment

I had to disappear so I could come back to myself

Hi Reader,

It’s been a long time since I’ve sent a newsletter. I honestly wasn't sure if I was ever going to send another one.

I didn't know if I could keep writing after a series of events led me into what I would call a dark night of the soul.

Over the past year and a half, almost every area of my life has been wiped clean. And not in a spring cleaning kind of way. More like a “this is being taken from you, and there’s nothing you can do to get it back” kind of way.

I felt like I had to retreat into a cocoon to make sense of everything that happened. I needed space to process, to understand, and to come back to myself before I could put anything into words.

As I sip my tea and watch the rain pour outside while I write this email to you, I feel like I'm ready to break out of my little cocoon. I'm finally ready to share where I've been.

This blog post is the first post in a series about how chronic pain and health anxiety took over my life. I know I’m not alone in experiencing these things, yet few people seem to share about them openly.

I’m writing this for the sensitive one, the quiet one, the one with chronic pain, the one who feels everyone else’s feelings and ignores their own.

As I continue writing this series, I’m going to share more deeply and authentically than I have before. Some of what I share might feel heavy at times, but I promise there are bright skies at the end.

I’m now in a place where I have the mindset and tools for emotional regulation, self-compassion, and self-acceptance that I’ve needed my whole life.

This upcoming series may feel a little different from my previous blog entries, but it all fits into a bigger vision of what I’ve always wanted my blog to be and the impact I want to make in the world.

I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned and continue to learn on this journey.

P.S. If you’re no longer interested in these posts, you can always unsubscribe at the bottom of this email. No hard feelings.

The Moment

I write about the deeper things I’ve had to (un)learn to let go of who I thought I should be and reconnect with who I really am. Follow the current series on how health anxiety took over my life (and how I got to the other side).
